Expeditor (6936)

Purpose of Role

Accountable for expediting orders placed with suppliers by the supply planning team to ensure smooth operations and the timely delivery of the product assortment or services required to meet actual or forecasted customer demand, and to ensure inventory metrics (KPIs) as set from time to time are met to drive revenue, gross margin %/pounds, customer acquisition, and overall financial performance.

The Expeditor will partner with other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Category Management, Data, and Operations to create best-in-class omnichannel product availability.

 Role Responsibilities

  1. Performance against inventory metrics (KPIs) to ensure optimal inventory availability.
  2. Monitor supplier order status expediting effectively to ensure on time in full delivery while minimising backorders/stockouts and maintain order status information within the ERP system.
  3. Collaborate with Supply Planners, Category Managers, and Sales to prioritise urgent orders that may be impacting customer service and/or production.
  4. Proactively resolve supply delays, including escalation to supplier Senior Management, Supply Planners, and Category Managers related to quality, lead times or delivery to promise (DTP).
  5. Identify any impacts to supplier service levels resulting from supplier lead time, minimum order quantity, or minimum order values being incorrect/out of date in the ERP system and communicate required changes to Master Product Data Management, Supply Planners, and Demand Planners.
  6. Coordinate with Operations and Third Pary Logistics Partners to ensure timely transportation and delivery of the product assortment or services.
  7. Establish strong supplier partnerships/relationships to support our supply chain.
  8. Support Supply Planners resolve supplier invoice queries in a timely manner that may be impacting the order to pay process to prevent suppliers putting supply on hold due to delays in invoice payment.
  9. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve overall supply chain performance and work with the Senior Supply Planners to bring about the required process improvements.

Role Requirements

Experience and Knowledge:

  • Proven experience in supply chain/logistics coordination, expediting, or a similar role.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using software and tools for inventory management, order tracking, and communication, in example ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and email.
  • Commercially astute.
  • Continuous improvement and process orientation.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, interpersonal and presentation) to develop relationships internally and externally across different countries to align and partner across the business to drive exceptional results financially and strategically.
  • Able to travel to the UK when required (limited requirements).
